Winter

In winter Charlotte Pass Village is only accessible by over snow transport (Snowcat) from Perisher. This 45 minute scenic snowcat trip to Charlotte Pass gives a sense of adventure to staying at Australia’s highest alpine village. As you cannot leave your car at Perisher overnight, the easiest way to get to Perisher is to park at Bullocks Flat (20 min drive from Jindabyne) and catch the Skitube (a small train) to Perisher.

Oversnow transport

The regular oversnow service leaves from the Perisher Valley Ski Tube terminal and needs to be booked in advance. This service will take you to the front door of Arlberg.

For more information on transport times and to make your snowcat booking please visit the Charlotte Pass website.

Getting to the Snowcat

Please note, you cannot leave your car parked at Perisher overnight from where your oversnow departs. Therefore the easiest thing to do is leave your car in the free overnight carpark at Bullocks Flat (20 min drive from Jindabyne), and catch the Skitube to Perisher.

The Skitube trip takes 15 minutes and tickets do not need to be pre-booked. For more information including timetable please visit the Ski Tube website.

For first timers this transport sequence of driving to Bullocks Flat Carpark – Skitube – Oversnow -can be a bit daunting, so if you have any questions or require clarification please feel welcome to speak to our booking officer.

Summer

In summer the road is open all the way to Charlotte Pass. Simply follow the Kosciuszko Road out of Jindabyne towards Perisher. Continue 8 km past Perisher to Australia’s highest alpine village, Charlotte Pass.
